Meet The Doctor
Dr. Fukuman is a native Southern Californian, and a 34 year resident of San Clemente. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from California State College, Dominguez Hills, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery at University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 1979. She practiced in Berkeley before opening Smile San Clemente in 1985. Dr. Fukuman is a member of the Orange County Dental Society, and enjoys giving back to the community by donating her time at local elementary schools, giving dental education presentations to school-age children. An avid bird watcher, Dr. Fukuman is also a member of the Sea and Sage Audubon Society where she donates and volunteers for the preservation of the environment. Her lifelong philosophy has always been, “It is better to give, than to receive” and continues to support many other organizations, including Canine Companions, Girl Scouts of America, Operation Gratitude, and the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station.
Known for her jovial, colorful personality, (and hair), and her resounding belief that life should be enjoyed to the fullest extent possible, whenever Dr. Fukuman is not in the office, or not out birding, she might be found on her CanAm motorcycle in her neon green jacket, signed up for a triathlon, peddling down the street on her road bike, kayaking in the Dana Point Harbor, or most notably, delighting her family and friends at the nearest, tastiest eatery with samples from every item the menu has to offer.
For Dr. Fukuman, when you become a patient, you become family.
